Scholarships and finance

While you earn as you learn through your apprenticeship or traineeship, sometimes extra financial support can make all the difference.

MITO offers financial assistance options to help learners start, continue, or complete their training.

Whether you’re looking to advance your career with a scholarship or you’re experiencing unexpected financial pressure, we’re here to support you.

Automotive body scholarships

To celebrate the launch of MITO’s new and updated automotive body programmes, we are offering a select number of 2026 Automotive Body scholarships.

These programmes have been designed to help learners develop the skills and experience required for a strong, future-ready career.

Matariki scholarships

Each year, MITO Training Advisors nominate outstanding graduates or potential learners for a Matariki Scholarship, which covers study towards either the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) or MITO’s Electric Vehicle Automotive Engineering programme.

Recipients are selected based on a range of factors, including their passion for their industry, and desire to further develop their skills and careers.

Annual Scholarships

MITO’s scholarship programme, delivered in partnership with the Inspiring Futures Foundation (IFF), supports aspiring and current learners to progress their skills and knowledge.

The MITO/Inspiring Futures Foundation scholarship programme contributes funding towards apprenticeships, training programmes, and business management qualifications.

Previous recipients have used their scholarships to help fund apprenticeships, graduate business diplomas, advanced technical programmes, and management courses.
