Take the next step in your mining or quarrying career. These micro‑credentials build foundational management, safety, and operational knowledge for those aiming to achieve a B‑grade Certificate of Competence.

Programme outline

The following micro-credentials are required for a B-grade Opencast Coal Mine Manager CoC, B-grade Quarry Manager CoC, and B-grade Alluvial Mine Manager CoC and must be showing on your Record of Achievement before you apply for your CoC.

In addition to the the following micro-credentials, you will also need to complete the following:

Explain how the Health and Safety at Work Act applies on an extractive site.
Describe what the Resource Management Act requires for protecting the environment at an extractive site.
Explain the main rules of the Crown Minerals Act, including how permits work.
Explain the rules for hazardous substances and emergencies.
