Eligibility

Must be employed in the automotive collision repair industry
Suitable for apprentices and entry-level technicians
Note: must have previously completed the New Zealand Certificate in Collision Repair (Non-Structural Repair) (Level 4) to be eligible to enrol into the strand in Structural Repair Technician

You'll learn to

Work safely and effectively by following industry regulations, policies, and procedures
Remove and replace vehicle components to assist with the collision repair process and perform minor repairs
Monitor a collision repair workplace and respond to issues as required to maintain a safe and effective workplace
Apply collision repair knowledge to evaluate damage and select appropriate repair methods to form a repair plan, including basic diagnostics of electrical and electronic component faults and/or damage
Apply collision repair knowledge to select the appropriate tools, products and equipment to carry out non-structural repairs on a vehicle

Graduates of the Structural Repair Technician strand will also be able to:

Note: you must have previously completed the New Zealand Certificate in Collision Repair (Non-Structural Repair) (Level 4) to be eligible to enrol into the strand in Structural Repair Technician.

Training fee

The training fee is $1,200 (excluding GST and any bulk learner discount). Note this is an annual fee and is refundable.

Shorter programmes (approximately one year, including the Structural Repair Technician strand) are charged as a fixed, non-refundable fee. If completing the strand only, fees will reflect the time required.
