Industry leaders are helping shape the future of apprenticeships, traineeships, and industry skill development solutions through MITO’s Industry Reference Groups (IRGs).
MITO is a nationally-based charitable company owned by industry and established to serve industry. Its core purpose is to work alongside its industries to develop the skilled people and capability they need now and into the future.
A new team led by Manager Training Solutions Hannah Clark will support the IRGs and create a stronger connection between industry expertise and programme development. Its purpose is to ensure industry leadership is embedded throughout the ongoing development of MITO’s industry training solutions.
The IRGs bring together talented people from across industry to share insight, guide priorities, and contribute practical experience for the benefit of employers and learners.
Their experience adds depth to programme development, helping MITO build on what is working well and keep industry training connected to evolving technology, roles, and workplace needs.
“The IRGs are industry leadership in action. They bring industry knowledge and experience into the conversations that will guide future skills and training,” says Manager Training Solutions Hannah Clark.
MITO’s industries carry responsibility for the skills and capability their future depends on. Their leaders understand their workplaces, their people, and what will succeed in practice. The IRGs provide a valued forum for considered practical input into programme development. Members bring sector knowledge, workplace experience, and different perspectives to discussions about programme content, learning resources, delivery, and support. Their expertise directly shapes future approaches to emerging skills and workforce capability needs, and the new technologies entering the market.
Isaac Heron, Parts and Accessories Industry Reference Group Chair, adds, “IRGs are very important to the development of MITO training. We want to see the apprentices come out with industry relevant experience and knowledge. What would be the point otherwise?”
Through regular discussion, IRG members can explore emerging opportunities, consider changes affecting their sector, and provide input as programmes evolve. Their contribution is purposeful and practical, with a clear focus on quality programme development.
The result is nationwide training and skills development solutions strengthened by the knowledge of the people who understand their industries best.
There has never been a better time to help create great industry training and show leadership in your industry.
