Time to take charge of your career with a 2021 MITO scholarship! If you are working in the automotive, extractives, transport, logistics or industrial textile fabrication industries, a MITO scholarship is a great way to advance your career by completing a national qualification. With over 70 scholarships available across six categories totalling up to $110,000, there are numerous opportunities available.
Developed to assist aspiring and successful graduate learners to progress their skills and knowledge, the MITO scholarship programme contributes funding towards apprenticeships, training programmes and business management qualifications. Previous recipients have used their scholarships to help fund apprenticeships, graduate business diplomas, advanced technical programmes and management courses.

The Business Skills scholarship is awarded to current or aspiring managers or supervisors employed full-time in any of MITO’s industries. This scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management (Level 4) commencing in 2021. Up to 30 scholarships are available. The Business Skills Māori and Pacific Peoples scholarship is awarded to current or aspiring managers or supervisors employed full-time in any of MITO’s industries. This scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO's New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management (Level 4) commencing in 2021. Applicants must be of Māori or a Pacific Peoples ethnicity. Up to 15 scholarships are available. The MITO Alumni – Diploma in Business scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO’s New Zealand Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) (Level 5) commencing in 2021. Applicants must have completed MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) programme and be employed full-time in the automotive industry. Up to eight scholarships are available. If you are eligible for the Government's fees-free policy you will not be eligible for this scholarship. Visit mito.nz/free for more information. The MITO Alumni – Electric Vehicle scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Electric Vehicle Automotive Engineering (Level 5) commencing in 2021. Applicants must have completed an automotive apprenticeship through MITO and be employed full-time in the automotive industry. Up to eight scholarships are available. This scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Parts and Accessories (Level 3) commencing in 2021. Applicants must be employed full-time in the automotive industry. Up to 10 scholarships are available. If you are eligible for the Government's fees-free policy you will not be eligible for this scholarship. Visit mito.nz/free for more information. The Clyde Cunningham QSM Memorial scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) commencing in 2021. Applicants must have completed a MITO automotive apprenticeship and be based in the Hawke’s Bay region. Up to two scholarships available.
