Qualification and Unit Standard Review - Gas
MITO is currently reviewing the New Zealand Certificate in Reticulated Gas Pipelines (Level 4) with strands in Metering and Pressure Control, Polyethylene Pipelines, and Steel Pipelines (with optional strand in Gas Incident Response) [Ref: 3593] and unit standards in the Gas Industry subfield in response to feedback raised by industry.
We invite feedback on the qualification and standards noted below to inform the review and to ensure they remain fit for industry requirements.

Proposed main changes
- Purpose statements, guidance information, references, outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were amended to ensure they are accurate and fit for purpose, reflect the standard content and to ensure clarity for users.
- Unit standards 30368, 30372 and 30373 were set to expire with replacement, as they no longer reflect the learning and assessment needs of industry. These standards will expire at the end of December 2023.
- The Level 4 qualification has been amended to remove strands that will now be supported by the reviewed COC framework.
