MITO's Mining Administration Surface Extraction programmes are designed for first line or site managers who would like to gain certification as opencast coal mine managers or quarry managers.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE
______

The National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration Surface Extraction B Grade) (Level 5) covers:

  • Regulatory requirements
  • Safety checks and plans
  • Site construction and maintenance
  • Extraction sites
  • Environmental impacts.

Upon gaining the B Grade qualification, you may complete the National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration Surface Extraction A Grade)
(Level 5) 
which covers:

  • Extractive site management
  • Planning, inspecting and reporting on extractive site operations. 

Both qualifications include optional First Aid unit standards. 

TRAINING FEE

There is no training fee for this programme until 31 December 2022.

The training fee for the A grade training programme for 2023 will be the same as 2022 - $1,690 (excluding GST and any bulk learner discount).

The training fee for the B grade training programme for 2023 will be the same as 2022 - $1,154 (excluding GST and any bulk learner discount).

Note these fees are annual and non-refundable.
