The information you are providing to MITO will be used for the purpose of enrolling you into and administering your MITO training programme, and for statistical purposes. We will keep your information secure, and will only share it with other parties that are involved in the funding, administration or delivery of your MITO training programme. Internet Access

MITO learners will need access to the internet to log onto their MITO Portal. Some programmes require learners to complete their practical assessments and/or eLearning and access their goal sheets.

Learners who wish to enrol in the MITO Vehicle Inspection programme must provide evidence that clearly shows they meet the qualification and experience requirements outlined by the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency in the Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual (VIRM).

Are you an automotive technician with a trade qualification? or

Have you worked full-time carrying out repairs and maintenance to all safety aspects of light motor vehicles for at least five years cumulatively? or

Do you have an overseas qualification that has been approved in New Zealand by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)?

Are you a current Warrant of Fitness Inspector?

Does your current site have a PRS score of 3 (if it currently completes WoF)?

Do you have a Waka Kotahi endorsed Internal Verifier who will provide on-site training?

We understand that MITO charges a training fee and the invoiced party will be the employer. The training fee is to be paid by the employer upon signing the MITO Training Agreement (terms and conditions apply).

We understand that MITO programmes include eLearning modules and that the learner requires access to a device with internet connection to complete these.

We understand that the learner will be requested to complete two online assessments on the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Tool and that the completion of these assessments is a requirement for enrolment with MITO.

If you are an automotive heavy technician with either New Zealand Certificate, National Certificate, National Registration or equivalent, you must have three years relevant work experience.

If you do not have a relevant qualification, you need to have worked full time carrying out repairs and maintenance to all safety aspects of light motor vehicles for at least five years cumulatively.

We understand that completing this programme does not guarantee Waka Kotahi will approve the site as an inspecting organisation, as certain conditions apply. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that all those conditions are met.

Please note this form is an expression of interest to enrol in the MITO Vehicle Inspection Programme. Enrolments will be approved when minimum numbers for the technical workshop have been reached.

The workshops will be held online. By enrolling in this programme learners acknowledge that they will be required to have a device, headset, and microphone available to communicate throughout the sessions.
