About the Role:
Due to continued growth in our customer base, a full time, permanent position is available for an experienced Diesel Technician to join the service team in our state of the art workshop facility in Hornby, Christchurch. In this role you will be responsible for completing scheduled maintenance on customer vehicles, diagnosing, repairing and overhauling a range of truck components such as engines, transmissions, air systems and chassis and you will carry out servicing across both our diverse range of premium brands and other brands.
The Christchurch branch and workshop is operational from 7am – 9pm Monday to Friday and rostered Saturdays by appointment. Applicants need to offer the flexibility to work a combination of morning shifts (7am – 4.30pm) and afternoon shifts (11.30am – 9pm) on a set roster (we anticipate you will work approximately every 3rd or 4th week on afternoon shift. An additional allowance is payable for afternoon shift). Saturday work is scheduled from 7am – 12noon and this is on a rotating roster as is our call-out roster; premium pay rates apply.

About You:
You will be a Trade Qualified Mechanic/Diesel Technician with experience in heavy vehicles, and a strong background in maintaining, servicing and repairing diesel engines and heavy trucks. We are also open to considering applicants who are part way through their MITO qualification or recently qualified. Knowledge and experience in Western Star, MAN, Detroit Diesel and/or Cummins and Allison product lines is desirable. You will offer practical working knowledge of the correct and safe operation of appropriate machinery, tools and equipment and you will be a team player who will adhere and promote the company's values & behaviours. Ideally you will hold some or all HT licences, but support will be given to obtain these for the right applicant.
