About the Role:
Due to ongoing expansion, a full time, permanent position is available for an Apprentice to join our modern workshop and team of technicians based in Hornby, Christchurch. Ideal applicants for this role will have completed a Level 3 Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Pre-Trade) and will have started and/or almost completed their Level 4 qualification in a workshop setting. This position is not suitable for school leavers.

If successful in securing this role, you will work under the guidance and mentorship of our skilled and experienced Service team as well as receiving formal training through MITO. Upon completion of a 3-4 year apprenticeship, you will have earned a NZ Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 4 – Road Transport strand). This trade qualification is recognised globally. During your training, you will learn how to carry out servicing across our diverse range of premium brands and you will get hands-on with repairs and maintenance. You will also work directly with our valued customers.

About You:
You will have a mechanical aptitude and will take pride in completing jobs to a high standard. You will have a passion for vehicles, engines or anything to do with the automotive/heavy transport industries. You will be the type who completes basic repairs and services to your own vehicles. You might have welding experience and/or knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems. You will offer practical working knowledge of the correct and safe operation of appropriate machinery, tools and equipment and you will be a team player who will adhere and promote the company's values & behaviours.
