  • A letter from you outlining how the scholarship is going to help you achieve your career goals, benefit your workplace and how you will manage the balance between study and work
  • Letter of permission/support from your employer, confirming the date you started employment, that you are working full-time and why they support your scholarship application 
  • Your CV containing information about your employment history 
  • Evidence of your New Zealand citizenship or residency (only a passport, birth certificate or residence visa is accepted).

Please read these terms and conditions carefully to ensure your application is considered.

  • This scholarship covers the first-year fees for either MITO-Te Pūkenga’s New Zealand Certificate in Light Automotive Engineering (Level 5), New Zealand Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 5) or New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Electrical Engineering (Level 5) ($662 + GST).
  • You must be employed full-time in the relevant industry and meet the pre-requisites for your selected training programme.
  • You must be a New Zealand citizen or resident.
  • Your employer must have an approved training capacity from MITO-Te Pūkenga.
  • The scholarship will not be awarded to applicants that are currently completing a qualification through MITO-Te Pūkenga.
  • The scholarship will not be awarded to applicants that are enrolled in another training programme with any other tertiary provider.
  • Successful applicants must enrol before 30 November 2023.
  • The scholarship can only be awarded once per person and is not transferable to another person.
  • The scholarship is not transferable to another place of employment should you change employer before the scholarship is completed, unless the new employer is within the same industry and they are willing to support you; and your previous employer and MITO-Te Pūkenga both agree to the transfer.
  • MITO-Te Pūkenga and the Inspiring Futures Foundation will publish details of the scholarship recipients and may ask for further information to help promote MITO-Te Pūkenga’s training programmes and the scholarship programme.
  • A selection panel will be convened by MITO-Te Pūkenga’s Executive Director. The panel reserves the right to request further supporting information. The panel’s decision is final.
  • Incomplete applications or applications received after 5pm, Friday 15 September 2023 will not be considered.
