Kent Fraser successfully completed the ATech® programme while working at Max Pennington's Autocity in New Plymouth.
"I've always liked working with cars, so an apprenticeship was an easy choice for me. I did my pre-trade qualification at polytech, then a few months later I got a call from Max Pennington's Autocity.
Today, I not only have my National Certificate in Automotive Engineering, I've also just completed my National Certificate in Motor Industry (Advanced Technical) through the ATech® programme - both gained through MITO.
There are a lot of exciting prospects - plus you get paid while you learn. And the pay gets better as your skills do. Also, I don't have a student loan, so I'm in a much better situation than many of my mates.
In my opinion, the secret to successful training is ‘looking, listening, learning'. Some of the guys I work with are hugely experienced - I've learnt to watch how they do things and listen to what they say. MITO qualifications are definitely a great way to go."
