What is this unit standard about?

People credited with this unit standard are able to:

  • prepare to inspect the damage
  • assess damage to the vehicle and write out the job sheet
  • estimate the cost of damage
  • prepare a quotation.

Should I have completed any other unit standards first?

We recommend you should have completed unit standard 5777 (Identify the procedures to carry out an estimate and quotation in the motor body industry) or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.

How will this unit standard be assessed?

You will be required to:

  • confirm the vehicle and customer details
  • assess damage to the vehicle and write out the job sheet
  • estimate and document the cost of damage and present this to the customer
  • prepare a quote and present this to the customer.

This will involve completing a workplace report.
