ATech® costs and funding

MITO charges you a training fee to do the ATech® programme. You may be able to get financial help to cover these costs.

ATech® training fee

You pay MITO a training fee of $990 (GST exclusive) each year (2012 prices). This covers all your training and assessment costs, including:

  • home-study packages from your polytechnic
  • regular visits (at least four times a year) from your MITO Industry Training Advisor (ITA)
  • support from your ITA in answering your queries throughout the programme
  • assessment of your fulfilment of unit standards
  • administrative support from MITO, such as registering your achievements on the National Qualifications Framework
  • your ATech® Resource Kit.

Financial help with your ATech® costs

Some employers agree to cover part or all of the cost of their employees' ATech® training fees.

Some banks may offer tertiary packages which can help with your fees while you're working towards your industry qualification.

If you have links with Māori iwi, you may be able to get assistance through them. For further information, contact your rūnanga, marae committee, or trust board.
