Purpose and content of the National Certificate
Purpose:
The National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Body) (Levels 3 and 4) with strand in Collison Repair recognise the skills and knowledge required for people in roles that involve body repair from an introductory to an advanced level and who work within the collision repair sector of the motor industry.
The qualification core covers knowledge and skills in generic areas such as health and safety, communication, customer service, and self management, as well as industry specific knowledge and skills, including: quality control and industry standards; legislation, tools and equipment used in the industry;; and stock security in the workplace. Other areas include customer interaction, such as completing quotations and estimates for jobs, and warranties and guarantees.
The standards within the Collision Repair strand ensure you develop knowledge and skills in vehicle body repairs required as a result of collision and corrosion damage and are able to apply these skills in more complex and unfamiliar jobs within the industry.
