Supporting workplace literacy
Strong literacy and numeracy skills equip our people to participate fully in the workplace, develop higher level technical skills and cope with rapidly changing workplace demands.
While many of us think of reading and writing when we think about literacy skills - it also includes listening, speaking, numeracy, critical thinking and computer skills.
Together with Workbase, MITO has developed a series of Literacy on the Job profiles. The profiles can be used to:
- identify the tasks and skills that each job requires
- assist in preparing job descriptions
- help prepare interview questions when recruiting new staff
- identify skills that may need to be developed in your workforce.
