If you are having difficulty interpreting a unit standard, check this spreadsheet which contains information on how to interpret unit standards that may need clarification. This spreadsheet is updated regularly and contains rulings which remain valid until the unit standard has been reviewed.

Forms for apprentice assessments and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)
Use the following forms to assess apprentices and make RCC evaluations.
Apprentice Assessment Report Form (ARF)
The ARF is the formal record of the unit standard(s) that you have assessed an apprentice as competent in.
Apprentice Assessment Report Form
Complete the ARF after you have completed your assessment or RCC evaluation and recorded the result in the apprentice’s Record of Achievement (ROA) or Training Folder.
Save a copy of the completed form for your own records and then email a copy to assessments@mito.org.nz
Recognition of Current Competency forms
The following forms are used for an RCC evaluation:
The RCC Evidence Evaluation Report - Guidance will assist you with completing the RCC Evidence Evaluation Report Form.
When you’ve completed your evaluation, send all the completed forms, along with any hardcopy evidence the candidate has submitted with their Evidence Portfolio, or which you have gathered, to NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Inc) National Office, P O Box 10803, Wellington 6143.
RCC forms in detail
The Application Form contains sections for the apprentice, the employer and the MITO Industry Training Advisor (ITA) to complete.
The Evidence Portfolio contains forms for the apprentice to complete with the guidance of the MITO Industry Training Advisor (ITA) and the Employer.
RCC Assessor Checklist
The RCC Assessor Checklist outlines and tracks the RCC evaluation process. Complete this form as you carry out the RCC evaluation, beginning when you receive the purchase order and evidence portfolio.
RCC Evidence Evaluation Report
Use the RCC Evidence Evaluation Report form to record your RCC evaluation decision.
Apprentice Assessment Report Form (ARF)
