MITO took the opportunity to launch their latest training programme, developed for qualified collision repair technicians, at the Collision Repair Association (CRA) annual conference.

The Collision Repair Extension Programme is cleverly designed to include up to three I-CAR NZ* courses in four specialist areas. This new programme will enable technicians to advance their skills with the current global trends and technological developments.

“This is a significant opportunity for the collision repair industry, enabling them to meet the increasingly complex challenges of repairing late-model vehicles,” says MITO Chief Executive Janet Lane.

The programme has substantial industry support, including endorsements from the CRA and insurance company State. State was so impressed with the concept that they immediately offered to sponsor 30 places.

“We’re delighted to support this new programme as part of our commitment to the long-term future of the collision repair industry,” says Mary-Jane Daly, acting Executive General Manager, State. “We have a valued and long standing relationship with MITO and sponsorship of this new programme reinforces our ongoing commitment to workforce development”.

The programme takes about nine months to complete and costs only $395 (plus GST).

“Collision repairers dedicated to better business are guaranteed to benefit,” says Lane. “State’s sponsorship is a testament to the value they place on this programme.”

CRA General Manager Neil Pritchard applauds this new initiative, “MITO takes their leadership role very seriously. They have demonstrated to our industry that they understand the challenges we face. This new programme will ensure that our collision repair technicians are skilled to an international standard. That’s pretty impressive.”
