National training and technical service managers gathered in Auckland in May for the second National Technical Forum.

Hosted by MITO, this annual event provides a tremendous networking opportunity across distributor and franchise groups, as well as a platform to discuss training and education initiatives for the industry.

MITO took the opportunity to provide an overview of the new suite of national qualifications and to discuss effective ways for industry to keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.

"The National Technical Forum enables MITO to gain feedback and guidance from a very influential group of training specialists with significant international exposure. We really value their guidance and direction from both a global and NZ enterprise perspective", says MITO Qualifications Manager Janine Staunton.

Ron Anderson, Technical Training Manager with Ford New Zealand, has attended both Forums and found them very worthwhile. "The major players have not traditionally got together. In fact, if MITO didn't facilitate this Forum, it is unlikely that we would collaborate in this way. MITO is very responsive to our views and perspectives - and this has to be good for the entire industry in New Zealand."
